FEATURES
Brass plating is the electroplating of a brass alloy and is used directly on the piece or after copper plating and/or nickel plating. The applications of brass plating are innumerable: it can be used both as a treatment for its own sake, as it is a pleasing yellow matte color, or alternatively as shining brass when the same color tone but not the brilliance provided by nickel plating is desired. It is normally used as a base for subsequent bronzing. As brass plating is a nickel-free finish, it can even be applicable in clothing décor.

In the brass plating process, when a flash of brass is deposited on a nickel base, a pleasurable effect similar to gold called shining brass is obtained. Even in the case of shining brass, a subsequent protective bronzing treatment is advisable to preserve the surfaces from the effects of time and oxidation.
COMBINATIONS
